In the Upper Aragon Christian all urban life disappears during the VIII-IX centuries dominate the town, village or farm protected by a fort in which the peasants took refuge in case of danger. The castle was originally a watch tower and completed as a castle with its different units.
The need to secure the territory against the Moors, Christians forced to multiply the number of towers in most towns.
So the castles and towers were at Luzás, Viacamp, Lascuarre, Perarrua, Fantova, Pilz, Benabarre, Estopiñán, Monesma, Castarné, Roda de Isábena, Montañana...
