Description

Description

The Juseu to La Puebla de Fantova Trail PR-HU 124 is a medium-distance route that connects the northern slopes of the Sierra de la Carrodilla with the foothills of the Sierra de Esdolomada, crossing the Isábena River valley. This route allows you to discover some of the most unique historical sites in the Ribagorza region, combining natural landscapes, villages steeped in history, and valuable heritage elements.

The route begins in Juseu , a village situated atop a hill. From there, we descend towards the access road and immediately take a right turn, entering a path that winds through fields, old farmhouses and farm buildings, vestiges of the intense agricultural and livestock activity that characterized this area for centuries.

We soon reached Torres del Obispo , a town of considerable historical interest, with a parish church and houses built in the traditional style. After visiting the church, the trail zigzags up the wooded slopes of the Sierra del Castillo de Laguarres , where the remains of the abandoned village of Castarlenas lie , steeped in history and offering excellent panoramic views of the surrounding area. From this privileged vantage point, the descent to Capella begins , which we reach via its majestic medieval bridge over the Isábena River , a true architectural gem.

Leaving Capella behind to the west, the route continues along a network of farm tracks that wind through fields and orchards. This section leads to the small hamlet of Bellestar and further on to the farmhouse of Cuello Oliva , a place that retains the rural character typical of the area. Finally, we reach La Puebla de Fantova , where this journey steeped in history and nature comes to an end.
