Description

Description

The Lliterola Valley Trail in the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park is one of the most beautiful and peaceful mountain routes in the Aragonese Pyrenees. Its path leads into a glacial valley surrounded by peaks exceeding 3.000 meters, such as Perdiguero and Crabioules , until reaching the solitary and enchanting Ibonet de Lliterola , a high-mountain lake that crowns this route.

The route begins on the road leading to the bottom of the Benasque Valley. After crossing the Lliterola bridge, we take a marked path to the left that climbs steadily through fir and pine forests, always along the left bank of the Lliterola ravine. This first section is demanding, but little by little the slope eases and the landscape opens up, giving way to alpine meadows where the silence is broken only by the murmur of water and the sound of marmots.

The trail continues to gain altitude until it reaches a small pass at about 2.000 meters. From there, the path ascends gently, leading to a shepherd's hut at a crossroads of ravines, a reminder of the livestock farming tradition of these valleys. Following the path northwest, the ravine narrows and the landscape becomes more rugged, until finally reaching the Ibonet de Lliterola lake at 2.500 meters, beneath the imposing presence of the Perdigueret peak.
