Description

Description

The PR-HU 116 , known as the Camporrells to Estopiñán Trail , follows the route of an old traditional path that for centuries connected these two towns in the Ribagorza region. Along the way, hikers discover a landscape of cultivated fields, holm oak groves, old rural buildings, and sites steeped in history, such as the hermitage of San Jaime and Miravet Castle , now in ruins but witnesses to a significant medieval past.

The route begins in Camporrells , taking the track that starts from the Moreno threshing floor heading east. Following the white and yellow PR markings, the path passes several farms and approaches the hill where the aforementioned ruins stand, before reaching a section close to the road. This first section can also be covered by bicycle, although the most recommended option for hikers is to continue along the path that branches off to the left, descending through holm oak forests.

The trail, well-marked despite the vegetation covering it in places, leads us back to the road, from where Estopiñán can already be seen on the horizon. After walking a few meters along the asphalt, we turn left again to take the path that climbs directly up to the town center, where the Santa Ana fountain stands out —an ideal place to rest.

From Estopiñán, the hike continues north. After a sharp bend, we turn right onto a country lane that crosses fields and woods until we reach the Prats farmhouse , the junction with the PR-HU 45 trail . From here, the route returns to Camporrells, completing an attractive circular route full of landscapes and rural history.
