Graus opens a new tourist office

Tourists and visitors coming to Graus can now enjoy the services of the new tourist office located on the ground floor of the town hall, with access from both the Plaza Mayor and Barranco Street. This is the second office to be renovated, following the one in Benabarre.

The Graus tourist office has four spaces: a visitor service area, a space dedicated to the municipality (audiovisual information, brochures and a large-scale street map), an iPad area (for consulting tourist information, images and the Graus application with information about the municipality that can be downloaded for free on mobile phones) and a space dedicated to the region where you can consult a large physical map of roads and tourist services.

The president of Ribagorza, José Franch, explained that the objective of this action, carried out through the Tourism Competitiveness Plan, is to have, in the territory, a modern network of tourist offices, through which to "sell" the region.

The one in Graus will be followed by six more performances in Llanos del Hospital, Benasque, Castejón de Sos, Montanuy, Viacamp and Beranuy.

Another new feature from the tourist office is an augmented reality app for the Plaza Mayor. Using an iPad, you can explore the square and, by pointing the camera at its most distinctive buildings, view information about them in either a text or audio format.

The mayor of Graus, José Antonio Lagüens, expressed his satisfaction at seeing the relocation of the office completed, describing it as modern, transparent, and accessible. Lagüens emphasized the "Ribagorza is Pyrenees" brand and the goal of projecting a unified image of the region.

The councilman referred to tourism as an endogenous resource of the territory and a source of wealth and employment generation; therefore, he emphasized, the office will be at the service of the citizens' network but also the business and social sectors.

The project has been developed and financed through the Tourism Competitiveness Plan.
