Around a hundred participants gathered last Sunday for the Secastilla mountain bike race, the second event in the 11th Ribagorza Region Mountain Bike Circuit. On a cloudy morning, but with excellent temperatures, the bikers enjoyed a challenging yet attractive course with over 1350 meters of elevation gain in just under 44 kilometers. The steep climbs and technical descents provided both a challenge and a thrill for the nearly 80 riders who took part.
The schoolchildren, in turn, enjoyed a 650-meter circuit which they had to complete several times depending on their age group. These events are becoming increasingly popular, and this year a total of 30 boys and girls participated, with some of the races proving to be very exciting. Elias Gordillo (children's category), David Badel (youth category), David Enrique “Fitín” (beginner category), and Pablo Bajá (pre-beginner category) were the winners in the schoolchildren's categories.
Regarding the overall circuit, Iván Romero, who was leading the race, had a technical problem a few kilometers from the finish. This allowed Eloy Suils (Master 30), from Ribagorza, who is in excellent form, to take the final victory. In the women's race, Blanca Vallés capitalized on her advantage over her mother, Arancha Mejías, by more than six minutes, relegating Lilian Soriano to third position.

Organized by the Secastilla Town Council and the sports service of the Ribagorza Region, this event had the collaboration of the Secastilla Housewives Association, Red Cross, Civil Protection, Ciclos Salamero (technical service and bicycle cleaning) and Civil Guard (Seprona), with almost fifty volunteers.
