The sports service of the Ribagorza region, once again, organized the ski campaign, in the alpine, snow and cross-country modalities.
This year, the services provided have been concentrated on Sundays, with more than 200 users who have been able to manage ski passes, courses, equipment rental and transport with the regional bus.
Due to weather conditions, there have been several postponements of the campaign and even days when users have had to endure low temperatures and adverse conditions, but in general, it has been possible to enjoy the sport in all its forms, in a great sporting atmosphere.
The alpine and snowboard courses were run by the Spanish Ski School in Cerler, with certified instructors, while Maspirineo was in charge of the cross-country courses (classic and skating), at the Los Llanos del Hospital resort.
The sports department gives “an excellent assessment of the campaign's progress, despite its extended duration due to circumstances beyond the organization's control and difficult to avoid.” Nevertheless, “we must express our gratitude for the users' trust in these regional services and their patience at certain times, as this campaign requires attendance at the resort on the scheduled days, necessitating close monitoring of conditions and any changes that may arise.” The sports department was able to provide timely updates on any issues, minimizing disruption to participants, who remain loyal to these activities year after year.
Despite the characteristics of this activity and the cost it entails for everyone, for José Franch, president of the Ribagorza region, "its continuity is important and almost obligatory in an area like ours, and to achieve, if possible, better conditions for the registered residents of the region, with the aim of getting to know the territory itself, and of course, in turn, making it known to the outside world, with the facilities provided by our entity."
